Walking holidays in Europe

Expressions Holidays offers tailor-made self-guided walking holidays to selected destinations in Europe. Our walking holidays are based in one place for 7 nights with the option of extending there or combining with other regions or countries even. The places we have selected tend to be, but are not exclusively, in the mountains but all offer the possibility of a range of interesting self-guided walks, of varying levels of difficulty, terrain and duration. We provide notes for four different walks in each destination which you can choose to follow, but the seven night stay also allows you free time to relax or to explore the region on your own. The accommodation we use is our personally-selected range of mainly 4 or 5-star hotels with whom we have established relationships. Transport to the destination is included and can be a mixture of flights, car-hire, trains and private transfers.
Winter hiking and snowshoe walking holidays are also possible. Many mountain resorts have marked winter walking paths for hikes and for snowshoe walks with snowshoes being hired at local winter sports hire shops. The resorts we feature in Switzerland such as Zermatt, Grindelwald, Gstaad and St Moritz are particularly suited to this.
